Joyce Ziki is a fellow of the College of Physicians of South Africa (CMSA) and holds a certificate in Rheumatology from the CMSA. She trained at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg and Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospitals. Joyce is competent in the diagnosis and management of various rheumatic and sytemic autoimmune diseases. Her areas of interest include connective tissue diseases, spondyloarthritis and the application of technology in rheumatology (telerheumatology) to reduce waiting times and increase coverage of care to underserved areas. She has attended various local and international conferences related to rheumatology.

Dr Ziki offers patients with rheumatic conditions early diagnosis, shared decision making in treatment plans and supportive care to improve the patient’s quality of life.
Joyce is passionate about giving expert care to patients with rheumatic conditions in under serviced areas. She has a monthly outreach clinic at Mediclinic Trichardt in Mpumalanga. This clinic is run in partnership with the resident physicians. She is also part of an initiative to bring rheumatology services to Swaziland and Zimbabwe.
Dr Ziki is currently pursuing her PHD in the department of rheumatology, at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital with the Witwatersrand university. Her area of study is cardiovascular disease in patients with systemic sclerosis.
