The first experience I had with Dr Ziki was when I was running late for my appointment. I called her to let her know that I was stuck in traffic and would be late, she graciously said “Don’t worry. I’ll wait.” That for me was the first reassurance that I would be in good hands; meeting someone human enough to understand that some things are beyond our control.

My name is Mathabo Mothebe 36years of age from Lesotho Maseru. I had gone to a number of different Doctors but could not get help. Finally my cousin from Johannesburg recommended me Dr Joyce Ziki. She said she is a very good rheumatologist. We made an appointment 25/02/19 I finally met her.
I am a lupus warrior I was diagnosed with Depression, Lupus and Autoimmune Hepatis in April 2019. This was after I struggled the whole of 2018 being admitted in and out of hospital.
Well I was admitted at Robinson in and out in 2018 for a pain chest pain and the doctor would run tests and say I have Liver inflammation.
Dr Z has been with me in this fight against AS since 2018. She is an upstanding professional who puts her patients first. From the times that i had cried because of the pain, when i coukd barely walk or carry my baby, i called her at all hours - not once did she ever avoid me or disregard my pain. Instead she managed it and monitored my condition even more intensely ensuring i have a better quality life.
In May 2019, I came to Dr Ziki after 6 months of not understanding what was wrong with me. After multiple hospital visits and just as many doctors, I felt that many of my doctors were giving up on me. .
